About the Author
Dr. Sulochana Gawande PhD
Dr. Sulochana Gawande (Sulu) has forty years of experience in cancer research. She earned her MSc and PhD in biology from the Cancer Research Institute in Mumbai. Her doctoral research at Tata Memorial Center, India’s leading cancer hospital, focused on human leukemia and lymphoma cells. After completing her studies, Sulu moved to the United States to work as a researcher in laboratories at the University of Pennsylvania and Michigan State University. In 1999, Sulu joined the pharmaceutical industry to begin a new stage of her career and work on cancer drug development.
